Pomegranate as a name for this art form speaks of my childhood world in Iran in which I find the beauty and sensuality of my artistic expression. To me pomegranate is a mystical fruit with a delicate taste, juicy and at the same time mischievous. Expressing soul-pictures also is about finding that playful, juicy, and delicate space within, like opening a pomegranate fruit. To manifest a picture needs dedication, just as it does to reveal the exquisite rubies of the pomegranate fruit.
My commitment to Pomegranate and Glass Art as a focus for my career began in 1997 when I was in Japan, and in between worlds. I had just learned about being denied entry to the US where my teachers and spiritual family live in Louisville, Kentucky, and where I was studying at University of Louisville. I was looking for a life-purpose and direction. At the same time I was reading Joseph Campbell’s book ‘Myths to Live By.’ A thought Campbell captured in the book changed my life and oriented me to become a mystical artist.
Jean Erdman, Campbell’s wife and a noted dancer re-phrased campbell saying: ‘the way of the mystic and the way of artist are related, but the mystic lacks a craft.’ In Campbell’s words: ‘it is the work of poets and artists to know what the world-image of today is, and to render it as the old seers did theirs.’ Stephen Gerringer explains: ‘Like the mystic, an artist brings her or his most inward truth to consciousness. The artist is a master of metaphorical language and the use of symbolism, which are the prime components of myths.’ I feel that is what I am doing with this art. I have made a language with colours, shapes, and forms, which is universal and can communicate with the keen observer.
I look for the truth of an experience both within myself, and with students and clients, and look for ways to express that in artistic forms, using glass as a medium that can hold and transmit colour and light. Some of my works are prayers, poems, and songs in visual forms.
I welcome commissions to create and manifest dreams, to express messages, and to offer gifts.

I teach the art and craft of stained glass making and guide the process of ensouled picture making.
